Message from the Headteacher Lady Maria Satchwell
Every day I think about our children and the challenges that they and their families face in these tough times.
I want the children to know that along with the other staff at the Academy I am here to help and support them through these difficult times. The main issue is that our children and their families are safe at this time and whilst we will do all we can to support at present, I promise you that when we all return to the Academy I will make sure that every child will get an extra special commitment and care to bring the best out of them.
Take care and keep safe all of you.
Lady Maria Satchwell
All students are encouraged to continue working at home and work is available here and will be updated regularly - please see the link below and work has also be issued directly to students.
To enable Key Workers to attend work, and a small number of vulnerable students (Looked After Children and those with an Education Health Care Plan) to attend the Academy a form must be completed and returned to the Academy BEFORE the student can attend – please refer to the links below. Please note, guidance states ‘students who can be at home should remain at home’ and, any students attending will be completing the same work that is available on the website.
No one should be attending if they are in SELF ISOLATION. This means keeping yourselves at home to keep others safe. We wish our families well during this challenging time.

As a result of advice received from Ofqual over the awarding of examination grades parents and students may raise the question about completing further work and will it count towards their final grade?
The answer is that it is highly unlikely that further work that students do will count towards their final grade and it is now entirely optional for year 11 and 6.2 students to complete work including coursework.
My advice is that there is benefit to keeping occupied through this difficult period and to complete work especially in the subjects related to your future Sixth Form courses, degree to be studied at University or future employment which will prove beneficial in the future.
To ensure that the integrity of awarding grades is appropriately dealt with I must advise that under no circumstances should parents and students enter in to discussions with teachers about what grade they are likely to be awarded.
All examinations have been cancelled. The latest information on awarding of examination grades can be found here.
We have now received advice on how examination grades will be awarded. Please click here.

The Academy will consider the implications of this advice carefully and provide further information as soon as possible.
