Welcome to Madeley Academy

At Madeley Academy, we are committed to ensuring every student has the opportunity to achieve their personal best and to develop their individual talents in all areas. As a school that is proudly “Focused on Success”, we strive to create a strong sense of belonging and high achievement for all our students’.

We are incredibly proud of our students and delighted to share our 2025 examination outcomes, which reflect their dedication and the exceptional efforts. In 2025, 64% of GCSE students achieved Grade 4 and above in English and Maths, with 36% securing Grade 5 and above. These outcomes reflect the hard-working ethos that runs throughout our Academy.

Our Sixth Form also continues to excel. In 2025, students achieved an average A Level (Excluding AS levels) grade of B+, alongside strong value-added performance, and excellent vocational results, including a Distinction+ average in vocational courses. These accomplishments place Madeley Academy among the strongest post-16 providers in the region.

Below, you will find our Life at Madeley video. We invite you to take a closer look inside our Academy and see our students and staff in action. We hope you enjoy this snapshot of what it means to be part of the Madeley Academy family. You can also learn more about our ethos here.

No Mobile Phones

In line with guidance from the Department for Education (DfE), Madeley Academy is implementing a clear “No Mobile Phones” policy during the school day.

From Monday 13th April 2026, students are NOT permitted to use mobile phones on school premises at ANY TIME, including during lessons, breaks, lunchtimes, and lesson change over. Phones must be switched off and kept out of sight throughout the day.

NEVER SEEN, NEVER USED, NEVER HEARD

This change is designed to:

  • Support a calm, focused learning environment
  • Reduce distractions in lessons
  • Promote positive social interaction among students
  • Safeguard students’ wellbeing and online safety

If a student needs to contact home during the day, they can do so through the school reception. Likewise, parents and carers can contact students via the school reception in urgent situations.

We would be grateful for your support in reinforcing this policy with your child. Students who do not follow the policy will have their phone confiscated in line with the school’s behaviour procedures.

We are committed to providing a safe and productive environment where all students are Focused on Success, and we strive to create a strong sense of belonging and high achievement for all our students’.

Thank you for your continued support.
